The spiritual teachings tell us that meditation can help us find true happiness. It is a small hobby of mine to collect quotes and post them on my twitter account! So here are my favorite quotes on happiness:
“Personally, I believe that the purpose of our existence is to seek happiness, to seek a sense of satisfaction and fulfillment.” — The Dalai Lama
“External circumstances can contribute to one's happiness and well-being, but ultimately happiness and suffering depend on the mind.” —The Dalai Lama
“Live a good honorable life. Then when you get older and think back, you'll be able to enjoy it a second time.” — The Dalai Lama
“There is enough for everybody’s needs, but not for everybody’s greed.” — Mahatma Gandhi
“Happiness is when what you think, what you say, and what you do are in harmony.” — Mahatma Gandhi
“Be content with what you have. Rejoice in how things are. When you realize there is nothing lacking the whole world belongs to you.” — Lao Tzu
“Lord grant me the serenity to accept the things I can't change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference.”
“Buddha realized that true freedom lay not in withdrawal from life but in a deeper and more conscious engagement in its processes.” — Mingyur Rinpoche
“If we are wise we can see that any happiness or any suffering depends entirely on the mind and how it perceives.” — The 3rd Dodrupchen Rinpoche
“Thousands of candles can be lit from a single one, and its life will not be shortened. Happiness never decreases by being shared.” — Buddha
I would love to learn about your favorite quotes on this topic. If you have any I invite you to share them in the comments fields. The free ten step "Dare to meditate" video course on this site explains in more detail how meditation can help us to find true happiness through the practice of meditation.

“Ever since happiness heard your name, it has been running through the streets trying to find you.” – Hafiz
Taken from The Tibetan Book of Living and Dying:
"In the space of freedom opened up by meditation, when you are momentarily released from grasping, you glimps the exhilarating spaciousness of your true nature."
For me, the concepts of freedom and happiness are almost synonomous!
